Brand Stories: Yield Design

“Yield Design lives at the intersection of functionality and elegance, of high-end design and accessibility.”

Yield Design is an independent design and manufacturing brand that was founded in 2012 by Rachel Gant and Andrew Demin. Their products include everything from homeware to jewelry.

One of the most unique aspects of Yield Design is how much thought and detail there is behind their brand. They boil their philosophy down to the following principles: “Bridging past and present,” “Today’s technology. Timeless craft,” and “There is no need to compromise.”

Yield Design believes in “respecting the past, yielding to the present and looking forward to the future.” They use modern technology to help them carry out their vision. And, lastly, aesthetics, sustainability, and ethical production... they can exist together. There is no need to pick and choose.

We decided to feature a few exemplary products from their coffee line in our “Slow Living” collection.

The quality of the design is astounding. The glass is of the highest grade—understandable as premium borosilicate glass is most often used in lab glassware and high-end kitchenware. Looks delicate, yet 100% more durable than your standard glass.

We love how the double-walls are both aesthetically pleasing and practical. It keeps your drink at the perfect temperature, whether hot or cold. It’s also quite a unique sight, seeing your drink floating in midair.

The same quality can be found in their Double-Wall Pour Over, which is compatible with standard V60 filters, and their Glass French Press.

The same standard is applied to the various materials they use like their Porcelain French Press, which is reportedly “produced in collaboration with a long established Vietnamese Potter, one which lays claim to comparable ethical practices,” according to the World of Interiors.

When you get your hands on their products, you realize without a doubt, these are everyday household items that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
