This cast iron teapot is designed by Hisao Iwashimizu, the founder of Kukan Chuzo. The interior of the teapot is coated with enamel finishes, which has a heat retaining effect. It comes with a stainless steel mesh filter.

Hisao Iwashimizu is not only a skilled ironware craftsman, but he also possesses a keen design sensibility. Working in the traditional Japanese craft of Nambu Tetsu, his creations are understated and minimalist in form, while having rich textures and exquisite curves. Based in Iwate, Japan, where ironware production is thriving (called Nanbu Tekki), Hisao Iwashimizu continues to make simple and modern cast iron items that fit comfortably in modern life.
