Named after the precise angle that defines its form, the 69.1° Wooden Trinket Box is constructed from ten triangular and two pentagonal wooden panels, each joined seamlessly at a 69.1-degree angle. The matching angles of the lid and base allow the boxes to stack neatly, while the faceted form reveals a different character from every view.

Each box is crafted by Iku Matsumoto, a woodworker based in Odawara, Japan, known for her highly precise joinery and work with complex angled forms. After studying woodworking at Kyoto University of Traditional Crafts, she established Matsumoto Woodworks in 2021. Her work combines technically demanding craftsmanship with functional objects designed for everyday life.
